Virtual training broadcast studio

My virtual training modules focus on practical tools and practices you can apply yourself the next day. You will learn these by experiencing them yourself in small virtual breakout rooms, and working together with fellow students.

To guarantee a personal experience there will be no more than 10 students in one virtual training session.

Available virtual training modules

  • Innovation & customer collaboration
As a Product Owner it is very tempting to focus on what you know already. But where does true innovation come from? And how can you effectively interact with your customers and end users to gain new innovative ideas? In this virtual training session you will experience 2 different workshop formats that you can organize yourself with your end users. This session is targeted at Product Owners and Scrum Masters that coach Product Owners.
  • Teaming & conflict navigation
We all want our teams to improve their learning capabilities. But how do teams learn and mature? And how can we encourage a team to take ownership for continuous improvement of their interactions and communication? In this virtual training session you will experience different facilitation techniques that you can use to coach your team. And you will learn how to effectively navigate conflict before things escalate.
  • Building trust & psychological safety
Fear of what others think about us and our actions has a huge impact on what we are willing to share. The phrase “why didn’t you tell me this earlier?” is often a symptom for a lack of trust and psychological safety. In this virtual training session you will learn what you can do to encourage a culture where trust and psychological safety can grow. Without trust there can be no agility.
  • Growing self-organization
Self-organizing teams are at the very core of any Scrum (or any other Agile) team. But self-organization doesn’t happen overnight. So how can you create an environment in which self-organization can grow and teams are willing to take more ownership? In this virtual training session you will learn what factors to take into account, how to have the right conversations, and you will be confronted with your own behaviour patterns. We will reveal what behaviour will help and what behaviour will hinder self-organization to grow further.

What others say

“This session – Innovation & customer collaboration – was a great blend of theory, practical advice and facilitation tips for Product Owners which has helped me feel more prepared when speaking to the team. As always Matthijs has real life examples he can share to explain so that we can better understand his point of view. A great session!”

Matthijs de Booij

My mission: inspiring others to discover new ways of working.

I have provided 100+ training courses and workshops in the fields of Scrum, Agile Product Development, and Kanban. Over the years, I have advised and coached 15+ different organizations within various industries from banking to healthcare. Before becoming an external consultant, trainer, and coach, I have been 5+ years part of different Scrum Teams. During that time I have been a Development Team member, Product Owner, and Scrum Master.

As an official Scrum.org licensed Professional Scrum Trainer (PST) and Accredited Kanban Trainer, I am trusted by the creators of Scrum and the Kanban Method to create the best possible foundation you can build on in practice.

PST and AKT badges

My training courses are characterized by minimizing use of Powerpoint slides. Instead, I maximize the use of visualizations on flip charts. These visualizations will help you recollect the lessons learned through the exercises we did, the conversations we had, and your reflections throughout the training course.

I believe that the best way to deliver a training course is to lead by example. That is why I apply the values and principles from the Agile Manifesto on the training course. I practice what I preach.

Small class sizes

My training courses have a maximum of 10 students. This has the following benefits for you:

  • A more personal experience for you as a student
  • Contributes to an environment of trust and openness
  • Easier for everyone to feel comfortable
  • More space to bring in your own challenges from your workplace
  • More space to learn from the experience of the other students
